What is Guardian?

Guardian is another major unique innovation introduced by Kontos.

In Kontos, to facilitate the smooth recovery of your account without relying on any mnemonic phrases or private keys, you have the option to set up Guardians (or a secure email). A Guardian can be another Kontos account owned by you or someone you trust, such as your family, friends, or any other trusted individual. When you request account recovery, you need their consent for the account to be successfully restored and operational. This adds an extra layer of security and flexibility to your account. You can notify Guardians to approve or reject the recovery request. Currently, at least two Guardians' approval is required to successfully recover the account.

Any modifications to Guardians or secure email require a 48-hour waiting period, ensuring the security of your account settings.
